• Is the article understandable? Is the author trying to be smart, using terminology and long words and constructions? A simple rule: the text should be understandable to a reader who is one level below your target audience. For example, if you are writing for students, then the text should be understandable to an eighth grader.

• Are there many clichés and formulaic phrases in the article? Has the author edited the text? Did you remove the "water"?

• Is the structure of the material logical? And does it exist?

• Does the article contain new ideas? Or is it all the same, but written in different words, you have repeatedly read on dozens of similar sites?

• Are there links to sources? Or the author writes about what he “heard or read somewhere”. Beware of "interesting" facts whose source is unknown - they may well turn out to be a duck.

• Is there a rhythm in the text? How will the material “sound” if read aloud? Is it too monotonous? To add dynamics, it is recommended to alternate sentences of medium length with short ones. And long ones are rarely used.

• What is the practical use of the material? What can the reader change in his life for the better after reading the article?

• What impression is left after reading the article? Is the article inspiring? Does it encourage action? Does it make you want to try for yourself what the author writes about, or at least better understand the topic? It is important that after reading there is no feeling of confusion, uncertainty and skepticism. The perfect article for you is rare. More often than not, you'll get content that "has some good parts" but is overall a bit raw. Immediately return them to the author for revision, indicating your comments. Before publication, it is useful to give the article for verification by the proofreader. Even literate people sometimes make mistakes and make typos.

If the author suits you, immediately order a series of articles. Take a look at the content plan and select topics that will be of interest to your readers. The best articles are obtained when the author himself is passionate about the topic, feels the drive from collecting invoices and is interested in a quality result.

Fifty-three topics to write about in a blog or online magazine

You have provided in your content plan bookmark where to write down ideas for future articles? At the first stage, it is important to pick up speed and produce more diverse materials. Often novice writers use 3-4 article templates and feel confident overlooking the plethora of possibilities.

If it's hard to come up with a new article idea, check out this list. Perhaps you will find suitable topics or formats for new publications.

Utility

• Problem - solution. For example, "What needs to be done so that your mailings do not fall into spam."

• Numbered list according to the template "10 reasons ...". It may consist of listing and describing resources, bugs, tools, opportunities, myths, obstacles, discoveries.

• Do your own research and talk about it. For example, "What do people talk about in the most famous restaurant in Moscow." (We at "Business Molodist" conducted a study "Portrait of a Young Entrepreneur: Results of a Sociological Study".)

• Case. "How we solved the problem with ... and what came of it."

• FAQ. “We are often asked…”

• What should be asked, but usually not asked. "What are the seven questions every business owner should ask the SEO-optimizer."

• Checklist. “Checklist for Preparing and Launching Workable Email Campaigns.”

• The Complete Guide to Your Chosen Topic in Your Niche.

• Define (“What is…”), essential in new niches or in resources for beginners.

• Overview of statistics, numbers, data. You can involve experts to get comments.

About interesting people

The main problem of corporate news is a narrow view. They write either about management or about "forerunners", losing sight of the huge variety of interesting personalities - both in the industry and in the world, not to mention history.

Write more about people: promote experts, professionals, heroes of the market - those who are interesting, have their own point of view, deserve attention.

• Profile article about an influential person in your niche, field of activity.

• Crowdsourcing review. Gather the opinions of experts or influencers on a single topic or issue in your market. "What ten sales managers with outstanding results do 15 minutes before calling the client."

• Interview with an expert.

• One day in the life. The VimpelCom company made excellent use of it by publishing a photo report “One day of the CEO of Beeline”.

• What they write about. Survey of materials of other authors. Of course, with links.

• Quotes on the topic. Collect quotes from famous people on a specific topic. "Twenty marketing insights that inspired us this year." So, for example, they did it on the site unbounce.

• The best on the Internet on ... (articles, tools, books, other resources).

• The best of the month. Meduza's Balsam of Riga review on the best journalistic articles of the month (Meduza.io).

• People worth reading. List of influencer blogs
